YRPG has been attaching great importance to the R & D of new medicines. Preparation Research Institute grew out of Product Development Department which was formed at the very beginning of YRPG's foundation. With 30 years' development, the Institute now focuses on the preliminary R & D and pilot scale test of new medicine categories such as general solid preparations, liquid preparations, dripping pills, soft capsules, soft bags and eye drops. There are nearly 50 employees including 2 doctors and over 20 masters.

There are over 50 projects in research. They are respectively on pre-clinical research, clinical research, trial production and other stages. Those include Chemical 1.1, Chemical 3.1, Chemical 3.2, Chemical 5, Chemical 6 and other new types of medicines and cover anti-infection, anti-cancer, cardiovascular, endocrine, digestion and other therapeutic fields. The Institute annually produces 2 to 5 new types of medicines on average, and has cultivated a lot of brands such as levofloxacin hydrochloride injection, zoledronic phosphonic acid injection, dyclonine mucilage, dezocine injection, Desloratadine Citrate Disodium tablet, bringing enormous economic and social profit for the Company.
