1. About the research institute
The institute was established on April 11, 2011, based in YRPG. The major directions
are as follows:1)1) Quality control of TCM based on chemical ingredients and bioactivity;2)2)
Improvement of TCM quality standards;3)3) International recognition of TCM quality
standards.
2. About the team
The institute has a team of 35 professionals lead Dr. Zhenglu as the dean. The institute
also has an academic commission with 6 members, including 3 foreigners. They are:
1) Professor Franz Gerhard: specialized in botanical chemistry, Professor at Regensburg
University, President of Chinese Herbal Medicine Commission of European Pharmacopoeia.
2) Professor Jan Van der Greef: Professor at TNO, a Dutch institute of applied science,
Professor at Leiden University. He has been working in metabonomics for over 30
years.
3) Professor Mei Wang: Professor at Leiden University, specialized in safety of
Chinese herbal medicine and quality control.
4) Professor Bi Kaishun: Vice President of Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, specialized
in chemical pattern recognition and fingerprinting of TCM He has been studying modernization
of TCM for over 20 years.
5) Professor Wu Lijun: Professor at Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, specialized
in discovery and optimization of lead compound, natural medicine, Chinese medicine
and compound material over 40 years.
6) Professor Ye Zuguang: researcher at China Academy of Chinese Medical Science,
specialized in pharmacology and quality of TCM over 30 years. Assessment expert
of state 863, 973 Project and new medicines.
3. About the programs
3.1 Registration of Ginkgo Leaf Tablets in EU through cooperation
YRPG signed Cooperation Pact of Extracting Ginkgo Leaf with SU Biomedical Company
in November, 2011. According to the pact, Gingko Leaf Tablet will be registered
in the Netherlands in the form of traditional Chinese herb medicine, and through
mutual recognition, will be registered and sold in other EU countries.。
3.2 Cooperation in Herbal Medicine Quality Papers of European Pharmacopoeia
SATCM, EDQM and Key Lab of TCM Quality Control signed a three-party pact in June
of 2011. The pact aimed at research of herbal medicine quality in European Pharmacopoeia,
and formulating quality standards on Chinese herbal medicine and extraction.
