In 2002, YRPG invested one hundred million yuan to build Hailing Engineering Research Center of TCM Craftsmanship by cooperating with Nanjing University, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Institute of Meteria Medica. The project was supported by State Development and Reform Commission.

The center mainly studies application of modern TCM craftsmanship. The center has set up five technical platforms—resin separation technique platform, supercritical fluid extraction technique platform, membrane separation technique platform, superfine grinding technique platform state standardized pharmacological lab technology platform— to promote the translation of research findings into productive force with intellectual property right. Some of the key research has yielded results and has been put to market, gain economic return and bring social benefit.
