On January 5, the 2013 (1st) Jiangsu Business Development Conference and the 7th National Jiangsu Business Leader Annual Conference was held by Jiangsu Economic and Information Commission and Jiangsu Business Development Society and co-hosted by Business School of Nanjing University and Jiangsu Academy of Social Science in Nanjing. 1000 Jiangsu business representatives gathered to discuss the themes of innovation, leadership and sustainability and talked about the new driving forces of Jiangsu business, The Future Business Leaders - 30 Influential New-Generation Business Leaders of Jiangsu were released. Xu Haoyu, Vice Chairman of Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group, won the title of one of the 10 Best Business Successors.

Ding Jiemin, Vice Chairman of Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress, attended and addressed the conference. Gu Shengzu, the well-known economist and member of National People's Congress Standing Committee, Zhou Haijiang, CEO of Hongdou Group, Gong Sheng, CEO of Jiangsu Shagang Group, Zhao Shuming, Honary Director of Business School of Nanjing University, Teng Binsheng, Vice Director of Cheung Kung Graduate School of Business and other elites from the academia spoke at the conference to analyse the challenges and opportunities to Jiangsu business persons in the new year.

At this conference, the three keynote dialogues revolving the current hot issues were the focuses of attention. The mainstream economists, financial elites and excellent Jiangsu business persons discussed and debated on topics such as the civic force for financial innovation, the rise of new-generation entrepreneurs, industrial spirit and the making of customized consumer's age, offering a feast of ideas to participants.

The conference also featured the inaugurating ceremony for Jiangsu Business Development Society. Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group was elected the Joint President Company for Jiangsu Business Development Society, and Xu Haoyu was elected the President of the society and received the plaque. In June 2012, Jiangsu Business Development Society was registered and founded in Nanjing, which marked another solid step for cluster development of Jiangsu business persons. After its founding, the society, with the guiding principles of solidarity, service, leadership and achievement of Jiangsu business, played a strategic role in the layout of building common road of progress and sharing results of development. To unite the elites of Jiangsu business persons, build new alliance of emerging business, promote the cooperation and expansion of Jiangsu business groups, the President Qian Zhixin of Jiangsu Business Development Society advocated setting up the National Jiangsu Business Organizations and Society Alliance during the inauguration ceremony, and the advocacy was well received by Jiangsu business chambers in China and other industrial societies.
