From July 11, 2012 to July 13, 2012, the 33^rdConference for the Achievement of National Pharmaceutical Industry Quality Control (QC) Teams was held in Fuling District of Chongqing. After fierce competition, 179 First Prizes, 104 Second Prizes, 53Excellence Awards and 150 Best Performance Awards were awarded. All of the 83 YRPG's QC teams attending the presentation won first prizes, and also won 82 Best Performance Awards (21 of which won unanimous vote). With its impressive performance, YRPG setnew records again and ranked first in National Pharmaceutical Industry QC Achievements for eight consecutive years.
389 representatives, 351 QC teams with their achievements, 15 teams from 26 provinces and cities, 11 pharmaceutical groups and 98 pharmaceutical enterprises presented their results. They discussed and exchanged views on projects regarding quality management in pharmaceutical industry. The number of teams and representatives in the meeting was the largestin record. Among the achievements present, the number of research and innovative projects increased significantly. Focusing on the new medicine GMP, these projects were specific, targeted and well-executed. Many problems such as production technique, technological process, equipment improvement and standards amendment were solved. All QC teams attending the meeting created economic benefits worth about RMB 180,000,000.
These awards and honors could not be won without YRPG's efforts to promote QC control. YRPG has always been payingprofound attention to QC team activities and regarding it as aneffective way of strengthening construction of primary-level working teams or groups. There were more than 100 QC teams working on the front line of production, scientific research and quality. They focused on projects of technology improvement, cost reduction,higherefficiency, energy saving and emission reductions. They organized activities concerning quality improvement and technological problem-solving with new philosophies and methods on quality management. This has helped to create significant economic benefits. Up to now, YRPG has conducted more than 500 research activities and created more than 10 QC achievements to fill the technological gaps. In addition, many achievements have obtained national invention patents.
QC team activities have been held for 33 consecutive years in China. It is a kind of activitythat lasted the longest time withgood efficiencyand wide involvement ofpharmaceutical industry. It has become the effective and important way of improving product quality, service and management. QC team activities may prevent potential risks in quality control and create economic benefits for enterprises. From 2003 to 2011, 1995 teams attending the QC teams' achievement presentation has directly created economic benefits up to RMB 1,611,000,000.
At the same time, YRPG was also awarded Excellent Enterprise for National Pharmaceutical Industry Quality Control Teamand Best Organization Award of Quality Management. Xu Jingren, President of YRPG, was awarded Excellent Leader of National Quality Management Team Activities. Xu Haoyu, Vice President, and Liang Yuantai, General Manager Assistant,were awardedExcellent Quality Supervisors; Sha Qi, Hu Zheng and Qiao Longjuan were awarded Excellent Propellers in National Quality Management Team Campaign; and Ji Hongying was awarded Excellent Quality Minister.
