On July 27, the delegation of Zhu Kejiang, Director of the Science and Technology Department of the province came to YRPG for survey on the construction schedule of Jiangsu (YRPG) New Drug Research Institution and the enterprise’s R & D innovations. He requested the enterprise to advance its construction level of the research institution and expedite the introduction of high-level talents and projects so as to upgrade its independent innovations in an all-round way.
In the company of Xu Shuping, Director of the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Xu Jingren, Chairman of YRPG, and Deputy General Manager Sun Tianjiang, the delegation of Director Zhu surveyed Jiangsu (YRPG) New Drug Research Institution under construction and the newly invested No. 2 oral solution workshop. In the subsequent colloquium, Chairman Xu Jingren delivered a special report on the enterprise’s innovative planning. He said YRPG would continue its investment in R & D, exert itself to advance the strategy of “developing three pharmaceuticals simultaneously” including the traditional Chinese medicine, chemicals and biotech pharmaceuticals, reinforce the university-enterprise corporation and establish the TCM high-tech R & D production base so as to realize the annual sales volume of 50 billion Yuan within 5 to 10 years.
Director Zhu thoughtfully consulted difficulties in the enterprise’s development, especially in terms of the new drug R & D and talents introduction. He felt rather glad to see that YRPG had obtained new achievements and made new planning. Its scientific development leaped onto a new stage at the second survey. YRPG had access to the latest information and scientific research trends in the pharmaceutical science and technology field. The group should highlight its transformation to the development mode driven by innovation. He felt rather confident in the enterprise’s prospect and said that the Science and Technology Department of the province would as always provide YRPG with necessary support in terms of the platform establishment, project sustentation and talent introduction.
Three new drug innovation platforms i.e. the chemicals, TCM and biotech pharmaceuticals were established subordinate to YRPG New Drug Research Institution with the scientific research network involving its subsidiary companies at big cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Nanjing accomplished at meanwhile. Besides, the Research Institution has founded an academic administration council with ten of top experts invited as R & D consultants, and established the scientific operation mechanism including the talent introduction, talent motivation, expert contact and external service. At the same time, efforts have been made to attempt such new operation mechanism as the joint laboratory and the industry technical innovation federation so as to expedite the transfer of R & D resources for external innovations to the enterprise.
For the purpose of guiding and serving enterprises, the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province has arranged experts to carry out surveys at YRPG for many times to instruct YRPG to establish the moderate and long-term development strategy on new drug R & D, and provide foresight suggestions for the platform establishment, project sustentation and talent introduction of the Research Institution. Thanks to the government’s support, experts' instructions and talents,  the “top-ranking R & D establishments, top-ranking talents for innovation and top-ranking innovative vigor” were put as the target of phase II planning of Jiangsu (YRPG) New Drug Research Institution so as to facilitate the establishment of the new drug R & D achievement transformation base and the talent cultivation base so as to improve the enterprise’s scientific and technological innovation abilities and its comprehensive competitiveness. The institution’s 95 building is expected to put into operation by the end of this year.
