On September 29, the remarkable selection of the “Outstanding Contributor Personage” of Taizhou was announced. All together there were 30 people selected for the award of “Outstanding Contributor Personage” of Taizhou and only 10 people were nominated for the “Outstanding Contributor Personage” of Taizhou. Xu Jingren, Chairman of the Board of Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group Co. Ltd was selected as an outstanding contributor because of the outstanding contribution to the promotion of the industrial economy of the city in the past more than 30 years.
In order to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and to carry out and promote mass activities of patriotism education, 11 departments have jointly organized the selection activities of the “Outstanding Contributor Personage” of Taizhou, including the Municipal Party Committee Organization Department, Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, Municipal Civilization Office, Municipal Government Working Committee, Municipal Development and Reform Committee, Municipal Personnel Bureau, Municipal Federation of Trade, Taizhou Daily, Municipal Radio and Television Bureau (Station), Municipal Youth League Committee and Municipal Women's Federation.
Since the selection activities started from the last ten days of August, it has obtained a positive response from the cadres and the masses and an extensive participation. From September 10 to September 17, according to the recommendation generated, 91 people were selected as candidates of the “Outstanding Contributor Personage” of Taizhou and it was announced to the public to accept the voting. In total paper ballots of 516,000 people and online votes of 171,000 people were received. The cadres and the masses paid great attention to the selection activities and it brought a historical participation record.
