"What are popular drugs for diarrhea?" "When is unsuitable for taking the Antihypertensive?" On August 23, the qualification trial of Jiangsu Arena of Safe Medication Household Health Knowledge Contest of "YRPG Cup" was being held at YRPG.
The total of 13 families selected by Jiangsu municipal Food and Drug Administrations and Pharmaceutical Association took part in the trial. The following principals watched the trial and delivered speeches: Yao Xinzhong, Deputy Director General of Jiangsu Food and Drug Administrations and President of Jiangsu Pharmaceutical Association; Li Ji, Vice Administrative President of Jiangsu Pharmaceutical Association; Xu Jingren, President of YRPG and Vice President of Jiangsu Pharmaceutical Association; and Chen Guanhua, Director General of Taizhou Food and Drug Administrations.
The trial consisted of required questions, respond-quickly questions, first-to-answer questions, and risk questions. Through two rounds of preliminary contests in the morning, six families from Suzhou, Changzhou, Wuxi, Lianyungang, Suqian, and Zhenjiang entered the final contest. In the final contest, more than one hundred questions on safe medication combining diet details and medication habits fully illustrated the concept of "Safe Medication Origins from Life Details". After tense competition, the Shi Youjin from Lianyungang won the first prize. Changzhou and Wuxi teams won the second prize. Suzhou, Suqian, Zhenjiang teams won the third prize.
The climax to the final contest came with first-to-answer questions. The questions closely relevant to daily life propagated medication knowledge to audience unconsciously. As the sponsor, YRPG arranged six square arrays as cheering squads, with slogans of "Seeking progress all the time and protecting public health", "Cheer for health", and "High quality to benefit people". This whole contest was recorded and broadcasted by Jiangsu TV.
Deputy Director General Yao Xinzhong spoke highly of the contest. He said that Jiangsu Food and Drug Administration and Pharmaceutical Association attached great importance to the contest, and regarded it as an opportunity for showing Jiangsu's great advantage in culture and pharmacy as well as famous Jiangsu pharmaceutical enterprises, and improving the safe medication level of common people. He hoped that through the contest and other propaganda activities, we could put more emphasis on the universality and validity of the safe medication propaganda, onthe drug safety special improvement and pharmaceutical market order standardization of Jiangsu, and on environment improvement, as well as on the rapid and sound development of the pharmaceutical industry of Jiangsu, so as to make contribution to the overall situation "Guaranteeing economic growth, valuing people's livelihood, and ensuring social stability".
President Xu Jingren said that providing patients with safe and effective drugs was the mission and responsibility of YRPG, which always takes "Developing and producing high quality drugs" as the starting point of all works and the highest purpose. YRPG hoped that the national "Safe Medication, Household Health" Knowledge Contest could further raise the public consciousness of safe and rational drugs use, and help YRPG drugs more acceptable by hospitals, doctors, and patients.
To cooperate with the drug safety special improvement deployed by the State Council and medical and health system reform, further raise the public consciousness and level of safe and rational drugs use, the national "Safe Medication, Household Health" scientific propaganda activity was launched in Beijing on August 3. This activity was jointly held by the Joint Education Division of State Food and Drug Administration, Ministry of Public Health, Traditional Chinese Medicine Bureau, National Federation of Trade Unions, Central Committee of the Communist Young League, All China Women's Federation, and Chinese Association for Science and Technology. As the most highlighted program in this activity, the national "Safe Medication, Household Health" knowledge contest started the preliminary contests at 38 arenas nationwide, and the winners of the preliminary contests would participate in the semi-final and final contests in Beijing. The contest is supported by YRPG and entitled "YRPG Cup".
It is reported that Jiangsu Food and Drug Administration would provide the intensive training for the winner families and select the family in the best competitive state to participate in the semi-final and final contests in Beijing.
