Shanghai Municipal Health System highly stresses the youth talent cultivation. It established the "Silver Snake Prize" as the highest honor for young medical professionals, and in 1996 established Top 10 Medical Youth Managers as incentive mechanism of the youth management talents. The candidates of Top 10 Medical Youth Managers are outstanding young management personnel in the Party matter management, medical management, nursing management, scientific research management, and other management field within Shanghai Municipal Health System. This prize is granted every three years and receives YRPG's support.
It is reported that there were 66 candidates elected by Shanghai health system to participate in the activity. Through discussion, appraisal and audit, twenty candidates with talents and real performance entered into the final election, and waited for the social voting. Meanwhile, "Top 10 Medical Youth Managers Challenge Competition" was held. Its result was considered together with the social voting result so as to generate "Top 10 Medical Youth Managers" and ten nomination winners.
