On February 27, the municipal industry, economy, science and technology meeting was held. The meeting summarized the industry, science and technology work in 2008, rewarded advanced units and individuals with excellent performances, analyzed current new trends and formulated a planning for objectives and tasks in 2009. To reward contributions made by Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group (YRPG), Taizhou People's Government granted the honorary titles of "Top 10 Enterprises with Most State Taxation" "Best 10 Enterprises", "Best 10 Technology Reform Projects" (YRPG pharmaceutical park project), "Best 10 Sales Stars" (Feng Liucheng, a salesperson in Wuxi Branch), "Advanced Individual for Energy Saving" (Sha Qi, Head of the Manufacture Department), and the scientific and technological progress second prize (Ropivacaine Mesylate Injection) to YRPG and its staff.
Zhang Lei, the Municipal Party Secretary, gave a speech at the meeting. Yao Jianhua, the Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor, gave a work report. Wang Shoufa, the Deputy Party Secretary, presided over the meeting. Besides, leaders like Miao Zhihong, Wang Zhennan, Lu Peiminm, Wang Dong and Wang Qun, the Secretary General of the municipal government attended the meeting.
At the meeting, attendees proposed that Taizhou shall make great efforts to implement the industry revitalization "1223" plan, promote the rapid development of pharmaceutical industry and improve the development levels of the equipment manufacturing industry and the chemical engineering industry. Besides, Taizhou shall enlarge scales of the new energy industry and electronic information industry and keep steady development of traditional metallurgy and metalwork industry, textile and clothing industry and electrical manufacturing industry to promote transformation and upgrading of industrial economy.
At the 20th anniversary of National Torch Program, YRPG was also granted the honorary titles of "Top 10 Innovative Enterprises", "Top 10 High-tech Achievements" (Levofloxacin Hydrochloride Capsules or Injection) and "Advanced Individual in Torch Program" (Zhou Bin, Deputy Director of the Drug Institute).
