On August 30, the list of 2008 Top 500 Chinese Enterprises, reviewed and elected by China Enterprise Confederation and China Entrepreneur Association, was announced in Yinchuan. This is the 7^thtime to announce top 500 Chinese enterprises list according to international convention. YRPG ranks 359^thamong the top 500 Chinese enterprises this year.
Overall, 2008 top 500 Chinese enterprises' business income increases by 25.0% compared to that of last year, which is 3.58 times as much as that of 2002; 2008 top 500 Chinese enterprises' total assets increase by 13.2% compared to that of last year, which is 2.29 times as much as that of 2002. Among the 500 enterprises, energy enterprises account for 10%. And the top three on the list are all energy enterprises. China Petrochemical Corporation, State GRID Corporation of China and China National Petroleum Corporation have been the top three for 5 consecutive years. China Petrochemical Corporation ranks first with business income of 1,200 billion Yuan.
In recent seven years, business incomes of top 500 Chinese enterprises have been increasing. From 2002 to 2004, the business incomes required by the list increased by 500 million Yuan every year; from 2004 to 2007, the business incomes required by the list increased by 1 billion Yuan to 1.5 billion Yuan; in 2008, the business incomes required by the list increased by about 2.1 billion Yuan. Beijing Energy Investment Holding Co., Ltd. ranks 500^thwith business income of 9.31 billion Yuan.
Among 2008 top 500 world enterprises, 26 Chinese mainland enterprises are on the list. China Petrochemical Corporation ranks 16^th, which is the best result among Chinese enterprises. China Communications Construction Company Ltd., China Metallurgical Group Corporation and Lenovo are newly-listed Chinese enterprises. Among 2008 top 500 Chinese enterprises, three enterprises' business incomes are over 1,000 billion Yuan and 46 enterprises' business incomes are up to 100 billion.
Total business incomes of 2008 top 500 Chinese enterprises are about USD 2,992.1 billion (USD 1 = RMB 7.3046, RMB appreciates by 6.9%; the same as the following), total net profits about USD 188.4 billion and total assets about USD 8,172.0 billion. Total business incomes of 2008 top 500 world enterprises are about USD 23,618.5 billion with total net profits about USD 1,589.2 billion and total assets about USD 104,865.4 billion. Business incomes, net profits and assets of 2008 top 500 Chinese enterprises account for 12.67%, 11.85% and 7.79% of that of 2008 top 500 world enterprises. The proportions increase obviously compared to that of last year. 2008 top 500 Chinese enterprises make total tax payment of 1,740 billion Yuan, accounting for 35.2% of total national tax payment (4,940 billion Yuan). The proportion is almost the same as that of last year. All these indicate great contributions made by top 500 Chinese enterprises.
