On March 21, Li Xueyong, Secretary of Party Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology came to YRPG for research and investigation. The accompanying staff was as follows: Zhang Taolin, Vice Governor; Zhu Kejiang, Director General of Jiangsu Science and Technology Bureau, Taizhou Municipal leaders Yao Jianhua, Lu Peimin, and President Xu Jingren. Li Xueyong requested YRPG to continuously promote science and technology innovation, build the State Key Laboratory with higher standards, and further improve the ability of independent innovation so as make greater contribution for the national pharmaceutical industry vitalization.
Since recent years, YRPG has insisted on firmly establishing and implementing the Scientific Outlook on Development, aimed at building an innovative enterprise, and promoted good and fast development of the enterprise at the aid of innovation ability improvement. Every year on average, YRPG allocates 5% of the sale volume for the innovation system construction. YRPG, coordinating R&D resources both at home and abroad, built Jiangsu (Taizhou) New Medicine Development Institute, which consists of Chemical Drug R&D Technology Center, Chinese Medicine Manufacturing Process Engineering Research Center, Biological Medicine R&D Technology Center, and Drug Preparation Technology Engineering Research Center. Approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, YRPG became one of innovative pilot enterprises in the first batch. YRPG is building the State Enterprise State Key Laboratory on pharmaceutical preparation new technology.
Li Xueyong inspected YRPG Drug Research Institute and Quality Inspection Center, mainly visited the construction of Enterprise State Key Laboratory, thoroughly learned the YRPG practice, experience, and advice on strengthening R&D and improving the ability of independent innovation. Li Xueyong communicated with research and inspection personnel, learned their working conditions, and inspired them to innovate and intensify the drug quality. Li Xueyong was informed that YRPG has introduced overseas high-level talents of almost ten, and expanded the science and technology innovation team to more than 200 persons. Li Xueyong stressed that only science technology innovation can provide sustainable energy for enterprise development. Science and technology innovation requires professional and technical personnel, investment, and long-term accumulation. The Ministry of Science and Technology's determination to establish the State Key Laboratories in pharmaceutical enterprises aims to guide and promote the enterprises with innovative advantages to make long-term investment in scientific and technological innovation, rather than blindly introducing and imitating. Li hoped YRPG's Enterprise State Key Laboratory in the construction could focus on the techniques of universal characteristics so as to play the leading and radiation role in the whole industry, along with YRPG self-improvement.
In the investigation, Li Xueyong listened to the report on enterprise technology innovation and the future development ideas. President Xu Jingren said that YRPG would remember the eager hope of General Secretary Hu Jintao, i.e. "Enhancing R&D ability and exploiting a road with YRPG characteristics", unswervingly take the road of independent innovation development, and strive to make greater contribution to the revitalization of national pharmaceutical industry. Li Xueyong said that the Ministry of Science and Technology would strongly support innovation development of enterprises with innovative advantages, and explore new measures, methods, for industry-university-research cooperation mechanism, industrial development, and ministry support, so as to support national pharmaceutical development through combined strategies and improve their international competitiveness by inputting more innovation subjects and elements.
