With the theme of “to create a bright future of Jiangsu together”, the election activity and the award ceremony of the Third (Year 2007) Outstanding Jiangsu Merchants was grandly held at Nanjing several days ago with the winners of “Top 10 Jiangsu Merchants of the Time in 2007”, “Award of Jiangsu Merchant of Independent Innovation in 2007”, “Award of Jiangsu Merchant of Social Responsibility in 2007”, “Award of Leading Jiangsu Merchant in National Industry in 2007” and “Award of Outstanding Contributions of Investment in Jiangsu in 2007” unveiled. Xu Jingren was listed again as “Top 10 Jiangsu Merchants of the Time”.

 

As one of the men of the time in Jiangsu commercial field, Xu Jingren led the small factory, initially unknown when it was established to the leading enterprise in the pharmaceutical industry of Jiangsu Province and ranked in top five of national pharmaceutical industry for many years in succession. The enterprise had been spread in six big cities of China and processing several innovative advantages at the national technical level as well as product advantages with high quality and wide coverage. With YRPG as the leading enterprise, efforts had been made to create Taizhou city to be the “Pharmaceutical Town of China”. YRPG proposed to create it to be a worldwide pharmaceutical enterprise as “a leading enterprise in domestic scope while marching toward the world” in the future several years. 

 

“The Election of Annual Outstanding Jiangsu Merchants” is a brand economic and trade activity of its kind with the most influences of Jiangsu Province and wide social influence in the whole province and the nation as well. The activity was jointly initiated by Jiangsu Economic & Trade Commission, Jiangsu Federation of Industry & Commerce, Medium and Small-Sized Enterprise Bureau of Jiangsu Province, Xinhua Daily Press Group and Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation. The activity had been carried out for three times up to now. Different from those in the past two times, “The Industry Leading Jiangsu Merchant” and “The Award of Outstanding Contributions of Investment in Jiangsu (Enterprise)” were newly added in the election of outstanding Jiangsu merchants for this time according to the annual comprehensive performance index in 2007. In the previous two election activities, Xu Jingren was titled the “Top 15 Prominent Jiangsu Merchants” and “Award of Jiangsu Merchant of Social Responsibility in 2006” successively. 

 

The election of outstanding Jiangsu merchants was officially started on January 3 of this year. Upon the enterprises’ recommendation, the public voting (online) in the society and the recommendation by relevant departments, winners of various awards were finally confirmed from the initial over 400 candidates through the strict screening by the expert appraisal committee composed by principals of the competent government departments, experts, scholars and news media reporters by reference to the online voting and short message voting.
