On September 21, Social Responsibility Forum for Pharmaceutical Enterprise of Year 2008,& Award Ceremony of “Contribution Award of Enterprise for Social Responsibility” was held in Beijing under the joint hosting of Chinese Medical and Pharmaceutical Enterprises Management Association and the People’s Daily online. 11 pharmaceutical enterprises, including YRPG, won the contributing award and 30 pharmaceutical enterprises won honorable mention. A propose was made by all the enterprises, that is, fulfilling social responsibility, devoting to public health and enhancing social harmony.

 

The pharmaceutical enterprises made the solemn promise that they would care for people and put public health in the first place; they would improve their capability of independent innovation, take all effort to research and manufacture effective, safe and cheap drugs for the public; they would strictly follow drug recall system, spread knowledge on health and improve people’s sense of drug safety; they would give positive support to clinical research, train more physicians for small hospitals, especially for the communities and rural areas; they would advocate green concept, eliminate environmental pollution and establish resource-saving enterprises with fine environment; they would take an active part in social services, offer more jobs and repay the society with their greatest effort. 

 

The Senior Vice Chairman of Chinese Medical and Pharmaceutical Enterprises Management Association Yu Mingde introduced that, to preserve the authority and seriousness of the Contribution Award of Enterprise for Social Responsibility, the judging panel composed by the authorities of medical and pharmaceutical industry, state media and experts strictly followed the procedures of local recommendation---online voting---judges’ grading---announcement, and the awarded enterprises fully demonstrated the characteristic of fulfilling social responsibilities and servicing the public, carried out a series of people-centered, central-task-centered and innovative activities and reflected their sense of responsibilities of actively participating in social service, helping the vulnerable groups, offering more jobs and caring the public’s health. 

 

Xu Jingren pointed out that it was essential for the pharmaceutical enterprises and entrepreneur of the 21st Century to uphold people-centered scientific development concept and actively undertake social responsibilities. The health and life of people matter with drugs. As a pharmaceutical enterprise, what we need to do is to devote ourselves to the health and benefits of people.
