17 July, the 30th Annual Session of National Pharmaceutical Industry information took place in Shanghai, while the list of 100 leading enterprises of Chinese pharmaceutical industry was announced. According to the main business income, YRPG took the 3rd place and won the honor as The Industrial Enterprise with Best R&D Production Line.
19 July, the 34thQC Group Achievement Presentation of National Pharmaceutical Industry announced that, YRPGwon the first prize of QC achievements and the prize for best presentation. By then, YRPG has won the first prize of QC achievements for 9 years in succession.
31 August, China Enterprise Confederation published the Best 500 Chinese Enterprises in 2013;Ranking 308th of all, YRPG has become the only enterprise of Taizhou city to enter this ranking list.
12 November, the Annual Summit of Chinese Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry 2013 was held in Suzhou, where 100 Chinese industrial enterprises with best comprehensive strength were published.YRPG ranked the first and won the award as the Benchmarking Enterprise Brand of China Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry. The star products, such as Pantoprazole Sodium for Injection, Gingko Leaf Tablets, Dezocine Injection and Levofloxacin Hydrochloride Injection, were awarded as Excellent Production Brands.
19 November, YRPG launched the project of six-sigma management, on which President Mr. Xu Jingren was present with a speech. The project will be firstly carried out at headquarter, it was divided into five sessions and would last for half year.
From December 4th to 5th, the 24th Summit Forum of Chinese Pharmaceutical Enterprise Marketing and Launch of 10 best China prescription drugs 2013 were grandly held in Guangzhou. The star productions of YRPG, Dezocine Injection was awarded with the Annual Achievement Prize for 10 Best Marketing Innovation Cases of Chinese Pharmaceutical Enterprises. While the Rupatadine Fumarate Tablets won the honor of 10 Best China Prescription Drugs 2013.
7 December, YRPG won the 10 Best enterprises with Greatest Benefits and Strongest Sales Revenue of Key Industrial Sectors in 2013, as well as Enterprise with Extraordinary Contributions to Chinese key Industrial Sectors. President Mr. Xu Jingren also won the honor as the Leading Figure of China Industrial Sectors.
21 December, the 9th Selection of Safe Drugs for People was carried out in Foshan, Guangdong. Pantoprazole for Injection of YRPG won the Prize of Safe Drugs for People. Meanwhile, YRPG won the Prize for contribution to Chinese Pharmaceutical Career.

January 4, The Awarding Ceremony at the 90th Anniversary Celebration of Chinese Communist
Party and Jiangsu Enterprises Culture Festival was held in Nanjing. YRPG won Excellent
Unit for Corporate Culture of Jiangsu.
January 10, At the 33th National Representatives of Quality Control, YRPG was awarded
2011 Excellent Enterprise for Quality Control, and Xu Jingren was awarded 2011 Excellent
Leader for Quality Control.
January 16, Leaders of Taizhou including Zhang Lei, Lu Xin, Lu Peimin, Ge Li and

January 9, The 2010 Forum for Corporate Social Responsibility of Chinese Pharmaceutical
Enterprises, hosted by Chinese Pharmaceutical Enterprises Association, Chinese Foreign
Investment Enterprises Association and Renmin.com, was opened in Beijing. Corporate
Social Responsibility Prizes for Pharmaceutical Companies were announced, and YRPG
won the Merit Prizes along with 9 other companies, another 9 pharmaceutical companies

February, Ministry of Industry and Information announced the latest list of companies
that acquired qualification of information system integration. Jiangsu Yangtze River
Computer Science Company, its subsidiary company, won the Grade 4 Qualification,
being the first company to win information system qualification in Taizhou. It also
marked the company’s leading role in promoting information technology in Taizhou.
March 5, In the afternoon, President Hu Jintao reviewed government’s working report
together with Jiangsu delegation at the Fourth Session of 11th National People’s

key industries from the 1.57 million taxpayers of Jiangsu Province. YRPG ranked

May, The Medicine Office of Consumer Goods Industry Department of Ministry of Industry
and Information Technology made three rankings of top 100 pharmaceutical companies
by three standards of total assets, primary business operation income and total
profits. YRPG was among the top in the three rankings: No.1 of Top 100 Industrial

June 25, The Exchange Meeting for the 31st National Medical Industry QC Team was

March 5, President Hu Jintao joined the discussion by Jiangsu delegation, and listened
to Xu Jingren’s speech. He expressed hope that the company could admit more talents,

March 19, Liang Baohua, Party Secretary of Jiangsu visited YRPG. Liang said the company

November 30, The 2009 State Drug List for Basic Medical Insurance, Labor Insurance

January 29, In the morning, the Third Round of the First Session of the Eleventh
Jiangsu National People’s Congress was held, and 157 NPC delegates, including Xu
Jingren, were elected.
February 17, Luo Zhijun, Governor of Jiangsu, visited YRPG.
March 5, In the afternoon, President Hu Jintao and Jiangsu delegates reviewed the
government working report. Hu also met Xu Jingren, and said: "China’s industrial
innovation still lags behind the advanced international level, and the gap in pharmaceutical

May, Both Provincial National Tax Bureau and Provincial Local Tax Bureau hosted their
press conferences and announced their lists of 100 Taxpayers of 2007. YRPG was among
ranked 32 and 19 respectively in the list of Provincial National Tax Bureau and
of Provincial Local Tax Bureau.
May 12, After the Major Earthquake hit Wenchuan on May 12, YRPG, being among the
earliest to respond, donated medicines worth 10 million yuan. Employees donated
around 3 million yuan in total to the affected area, paid special Party Fee worth
100,000 yuan, donated 50,000 CC of blood, and successfully allocated medicines for
war-time emergency in time as required by State Economic Movement Office.
May 26, The "Xiangyun (auspicious cloud)" torch relay arrived at Taizhou, a city
of 5 million people. Xu Jingren was the second torch bearer of the relay.
July 28, YRPG was selected as the first group of "Innovative Enterprises" by Ministry

January, With its value worth 3.256 billion yuan, YRPG’s "护佑" ranked 45th of the
500 Most Valuable Chinese Trademarks, a ranking made by Chinese Brand Institute,
and won the first place out of the 40 trademarks in Jiangsu.
January 21, Inauguration Meeting of Jiangsu Management Committee of New Medicine
Institute and Meeting of Feasibility Study of New Medicine Institute was opened.
With an investment of 180 million yuan, the project of New Medical Institute has
passed the feasibility study by experts and its launching was announced.
March, The first list of Model Enterprises for Good Medicine Quality was announced,

July, Ministry of Science and Technology approved 36 enterprise laboratories as the
first group of state key laboratories. YRPG was the only one from Jiangsu Province
to be selected for its considerable strength of the New Pharmaceutical Preparation

July 26, Jointly hosted by YRPG and Souhu.com, Monument in the Age of Peace and Mission

in Beijing. Xu Jingren celebrated the 80 Anniversary of PLA by staying in Beijing

Taxpayers, a list made by National Tax Bureau, being the No.1 taxpayer in pharmaceutical

September 12, National Development and Reform Committee release the 50th Announcement,
and announced the result of assessment for enterprise technological center in 2007.
YRPG ranked 71st of the 438 enterprises, and its spending on scientific and technological
activities ranked 78th. YRPG was the only pharmaceutical company that had an operation
scale over 10 billion yuan.

January, At the Jiangsu Awarding Ceremony for Spiritual Civilization, YRPG was awarded

March 31, YRPG hosted the 1st Science and Technology Conference. Wang Yongshun, the
Head of Department of Science and Technology, Ren Weiran, Deputy Head of Provincial
Development and Reform Committee, and Yao Jianhua, Mayor of Taizhou, attended and
addressed the conference. Mid- and long- term plan of the company were discussed
at the conference, and excellent groups, research teams and individuals were awarded.
April 2, YRPG ranked 16th of the 2005 Top 100 Jiangsu Companies in Profitability
and Tax, which was made by Jiangsu National Tax Bureau, taking the lead in pharmaceutical
industry.
April 22, Accompanied by Li Yuanchao, Liang Baohua, governor of Jiangsu Province,
and Xu Zhonglin, Chairman of Provincial People’s Political Consecutive Conference,
Jia Qinglin, member of Central Poliburo Standing Committee and Chairman of CPPCC,
paid a visit to YRPG. Jia visited the working area and said that the development
of National pharmaceutical industry should rely on sci-tech progress, and companies
should develop characteristic products, enhance competitiveness, and develop sustainably.
He also expressed the wish that YRPG enhanced its profile, expanded its market through

April 26 and 27, Held by Bo'ao Forum for Asia and Jiangsu Provincial Government,
and hosted by YRPG, the International Medical Industry Conference of BFA was opened
in YRPG. Zhang Huaixi, Vice Chairman of CPPCC made a speech at the conference. Li

July 1, YRPG hosted the inauguration ceremony of Dongfanghong (Red East) Square at
the 85th Anniversary of Chinese Communist Party. Li Min, daughter of Chairman Mao,
Kong Dongmei, Grand-daughter of Chairman Mao, Zhou Bingde, niece of Premier Zhou
Enlai and Xu Jingren attended the unveiling ceremony of Chairman Mao’s bronze statue.

September 5, At the Provincial Working Conference for Pharmaceutical Industry and
Conference for the Establishment of Jiangsu Pharmaceutical Association, Xu Jingren

September 18, The project of Beijing Haiyan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. by YRPG, which
was situated in Beijing Zhongguancun Life Science Park, was completed and held its
opening ceremony.
September 24, State Statistics Bureau held the 5th Information Release Conference
for Large Enterprises in the Great Hall of People, and released the latest information
on overall strength of Chinese enterprises. The conference also announced 1000 Biggest
Companies by international standards. By Revenue Index, YPPG ranked 267th and was
one of the leading pharmaceutical companies.
December, During the Forum for State Model Projects of Hi-tech Industrialization,
the Launching of National Biological Industry Base and Development of Bio-industry
held by State Development and Reform Committee, YRPG’s Pilot Program of One Billion
Gingko Leaf Tablets per Year was awarded National Hi-tech Pilot Project for its
contribution to hi-tech industrialization in China. The award was the highest in
technological industrialization.

February, Approved by No. 30 Document from State Administration of Industry and Commerce
in 2004, Jiangsu Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group officially altered its name
to "Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group", and "Jiangsu Yangtze River Pharmaceutical
Group Co., Ltd", the parent company, officially altered its name to "Yangtze River
Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd.".
March 1, Approved by State Intellectual Property Office, YRPG was elected State Pilot

March 4, YRPG won 2001-2002 Civilized Unit of Jiangsu.

April 5, Approved by Jiangsu Food and Drug Agency, Jiangsu Yangtze River Pharmaceutical
Operation Co., Ltd. was founded. With an investment of 5 million yuan, it covered
the sales of traditional Chinese patent medicine, antibiotics, chemical medicines
and preparations.
April 16, Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Town acquired an area of 380,000 square meters

August 19, Guangzhou Hairui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. of YRPG laid its foundation
in Guangzhou Economic Development Zone. With an investment of 250 million yuan,
the project covered an area of 110,667 square meters, and would be completed by
the 1st half of 2005.
September 1, The Taizhou meteorology display with the photo of YRPG as the backdrop,
appeared in the Noon News in 30 Minutes of CCTV Channel 1.
The second half of October, Haini Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was rated as 2003 Enterprise
of Integrity by Shanghai Bureau of Industry and Commerce.
November 26, YRPG received a notice from Hong Kong Department of Health on its success
for Enalapril Maleate Tablets during the government procurement bid. The product
became the 1st medicine to enter Hong Kong market from PRC.
December 31, Li Yuanchao, the Party Secretary of Jiangsu, telephoned YRPG and expressed
his congratulation for its sale hitting 8 billion yuan and YRPG’s becoming No.1
in pharmaceutical industry on behalf of the Party Committee and Provincial Government.
He also expressed thanks for YRPG’s contribution to Jiangsu’s economy, and wished

2003
January 29, Accompanied by Zhao Shaolin, the Secretary-general of Jiangsu and Chen
Baotian, Party Secretary of Taizhou, Li Yuanchao, the Party Secretary of Jiangsu,
paid a visit to YRPG. Li gathered information on the production of medicines, and
listened to the report on the planning of YRPG by Xu Jingren. Li said that capital
should flow to industries, companies and enterpreneurs that had competitive edges
and potentials, and companies like YRPG could expand by merging, step up innovation
in products and marketing, grow rapidly and enter the international market.
April 14, YRPG was awarded "National Model Home" by Jiangsu General Labor Union.
June 7, Accompanied by Li Xiaomin, Secretary-general of Jiangsu, and Zhu Longsheng,
Party Secretary of Taizhou, Liang Baohua, Governor of Jiangsu, paid a visit to YRPG.
Liang visited No.2 Building, the largest production base for Chinese medicine extraction,
lyophilized powder and liquid. He also listened to Xu Jingren’s report on the planning
of "Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Town". Liang said that YRPG should seize the opportunity
for development along the Yangtze River, and take the lead to grow. YRPG should
not rest on its No.1 position in Chinese pharmaceutical industry, but should also

June 12, YRPG held a signing ceremony with Zhongguancun Life Science Park for its
new site in the park. YRPG invested RMB 250 million to build an R&D center in Beijing,
a center aimed at the modernization of Chinese medicine and bio-pharmacy.
June 26, Li Yuanchao, who was attending the Working Conference on the Development
of Yangtze River, paid a visit to YRPG. He gathered information on the sales of

September 16, The Donating Ceremony to Fight SARS was held in the Great Hall of People

donated one million yuan for the aid of medical workers who sacrificed their lives
in the fight against SARS.
November 5, The Third Phase of Caring for Public Health in Western China, organized
by Ministry of Health, Poverty Alleviation Office of State Council, State Administration
of Radio Film and Television and All China Senior Citizens Committee Office, was
hosted by YRPG. The campaign donated medicines worth 10.9 million yuan to Inner
Mongolia, Shanxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, Shaanxi, Anhui, Gansu, Heilongjiang,
Xinjiang, Yunnan, and Jilin. It donated 3 million yuan to Shaanxi, Gansu, Chongqing,
Sichuan, Inner Mongolia, and Jiangsu to build Hope Project primary schools and health
centers, and donated RMB 250,000 for Bringing Back Vision for Senior Citizens campaign.
The campaign lasted two months and covered 10,000 kilo meters.

Enterprise Competitiveness, which was co-organized by the Bureau of Economic Operations

December 13, Jiangsu Haici Biological Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. of YRPG laid its foundation
in Binjiang Industrial Park of Gaogang District. With an investment of 300 million
yuan, the plant covered 200,000 square meters, and would be completed in three years.

April 20, Entrusted by State Bureau of Quality Technical Supervision, the expert
panel of Jiangsu Provincial Bureau of Quality Technical Supervision reviewed the
measuring-and-metering system of YRPG. Jiangsu YRPG, Yangtze River Pharmaceutical
Co., Ltd, and Haici Biological Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. passed ISO10012-1.
May 1, Ji Shouru, Deputy Party Secretary of YRPG, was awarded "May 1st Labor Medal"

August 15, Jiangsu Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. was founded.
September 9, Hairong Pharmaceutical of YRPG laid its foundation in the industrial
development zone of Dujiangyan. According to the plan, it covers 114,667 square
meters with an investment of RMB 120 million. The research and production will follow
the requirements of GMP standards. The plant can reach a production capacity of
300 million capsules, 300 million tablets, 40 million bags of granules and 700-1000
tons of Chinese medicine extraction. The production of Chinese medicine will use
the leading technology in China.
October 27, Phase-II Caring for Public Health in Western China, organized by Ministry

April, According to States Statistics Bureau, the output value of YRPG increased
by 11% in 1999 to 1998, sales by 23%, and tax by 34%; its overall economic efficiency
ranked 1st in four consecutive years in pharmaceutical industry in Jiangsu; for
three consecutive years since 1997, YRPG was ranked on the top 5 from more than
6000 pharmaceutical companies.

July 26, YRPG held signing ceremony and press conference for Shanghai Haini Pharmaceutical
Company and Drug Research and Development Center, a project by YRPG in Zhoupu Town
of Nanhui Village in Shanghai. The site, covering 300,000 square meters, with an
investment of RMB 120 million, was situated in a prosperous industrial zone. Reaching
a scale with output value worth RMB 300-500 million and annual tax worth RMB 80
million, it would become the group’s production base for traditional Chinese medicine

February, YRPG ranked 1st of 18 key enterprises in Taixing by overall economic efficiency,
and edged to the leading enterprise in pharmaceutical industry in Jiangsu Province
and top 10 nationwide.
May 27, To celebrate Hong Kong’s reunification with PRC, the Gala "Witnessing the
Sacred Moment", jointly sponsored by CCTV, the Center for Television Commercials
PLA and Political Department of Guangzhou Military Region, and co-sponsored by YRPG,
was held in the camp site of PLA in Hong Kong. Liu Zhenwu, PLA Commander-in-chief
in Hong Kong and Xiong Ziren, the political commissar, awarded the plaque "everyone
cheers for the century-long return of Hong Kong".
June 3, Taixing Municipal Government decided to introduce municipal-level management
to YRPG.
October , YRPG’s three products (Weisu granules, Gingko leaf tablets and Huangqijing
oral solution ) were awarded Jiangsu Well-known Brand of 1997.
November 13, Jiangsu Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group became one of Jiangsu Key
Groups.
November 28, Approved by Jiangsu Provincial Government, Yangtze River Pharmaceutical
Group Co., Ltd. was founded, being Jiangsu’s first key group in pharmaceutical industry.
December, YRPG was awarded Advanced Group in National Drug System by State Food and
Drug Administration.
1971-1996
October 1971, Taixing Kou’an Instrument & Meters Factory, the predecessor of YRPG,
was founded.
The end of 1971 – 1976, Taixing Kou'an Gongnong Pharmaceutical Factory was founded,
as headed by Xu Jingren.
1977, Taixing Pharmaceutical Factory (Kou'an Division) was founded by the merge between
Kou'an Gongnong Pharmaceutical Factory and Changjiang Chemical Factory, which was
then managed under Taizhou Light Industry Bureau.
1981, When the flood hit Sichuan Province, Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Factory dispatched
large quantities of "Banlangen" (isatis root) Syrup to the flood-hit area, and had
since then been well-known as "King of Banlangen".
1985, Yangzhou Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Factory was founded, and Xu Jingren went
on as the Director.
1988, The revenue of Yangzhou Yangtze Pharmaceutical Factory hit RMB 100,000,000
yuan, expanding eight-fold in eight consecutive years in production, sales and profit
throughout the 1980s, being the first pharmaceutical company to hit the figure.
1988, Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Factory was awarded Advanced Jiangsu Enterprise.
1988, Banlangen (isatis root) Syrup of Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Factory was awarded
Jiangsu Quality Product of 1987.
1989, Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Factory was rated as State Medium-Scale Enterprise
by Jiangsu Statistics Bureau.
1989, Suxiaoshangfeng Capsule of Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Factory was awarded
Jiangsu Quality Product of 1988.
1990 – 1992, Xu Jingren was wrongfully convicted, and was suspended from the company.
During his three years of absence, the company’s growth has suffered profound setback.
1993, With the help from party committee and leaders, Xu resumed his former position,
taking over the company that had lost two million yuan. The company at the time
required an urgent reform. Weisu Granules, a kind of Chinese medicine, was successfully
developed Yangtze River based on Dong Jianhua's special prescription. Dong Jianhua
is a famous traditional Chinese medicine professor.
1994, Weisu granules was awarded State-known Brand.
1994, Jiangsu Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group was founded. Xu Jingren took the
job as Chairman of the Board and General Manager.
1995, Weisu Granules was awarded Chinese Medicine Brand.
1995, Xu Jingren visited Tibet and donated medical products worth RMB 400,000 yuan
to Tibetan people on behalf of staff of the group.
1995, Xu Jingren visited Beijing, and sponsored a tennis match on behalf of the group.
Xu was received by State and Party leaders Li Ruihuan, Li Lanqing and Li Tieying.
1996, YRPG passed the National Measurement and Attestation.
1996, YRPG was awarded Advanced Jiangsu Unit in Pharmaceutical Industry by Jiangsu
Drug Agency.
The end of 1996, The Complex building, which was on the list of "State Two Step-up
Projects", was completed.。
